Realising the strain that Carrie's double life as Spitfire is putting her under, Kate spends much of her time giving moral support, helping, and generally worrying about her housemate. Kate finds it difficult to show her feelings and confides in her diary, which she writes in every day.
Personal Interests: Kate is a passionate reader and diarist. She is also a fan of Neo-X, following all their adventures - especially those involving Psihawk.
History: Little has been revealed about Kate Bixby’s past before she attended Braddock University. It is known that she met Carrie Conway (Spitfire), Nick Smith and Garry McGuiness during the first few lectures in English Literature, and that they later moved in together in a run down student house not far from the campus. Since Carrie developed superhuman powers and became Spitfire, Kate has been invaluable in giving moral support and helping her friend through some difficult times. However in devoting her time to this, she missed several important deadlines and was dropped from her course. Unable to face her parents, Kate got a job at a fast food restaurant to enable her to stay in London and keep up the pretence that she was still at University. Spitfire’s recent fame has put some strain on their friendship and although Carrie offered to use her influence to get Kate back into University, Kate declined, feeling that she needed to stop being so dependent on her friend and make her own way. She has recently begun working in the Night Spot bar, unaware, at the moment, that it is the base of operations of more superhuman mutants.
Along with Spitfire’s other friends and family, Kate became a target of the Hellfire Club, who threatened to kill her if Spitfire did not work for them. Kate survived an attack which destroyed their house and put Gary McGuiness in a coma. Kate joined Spitfire and her other friends in searching unsuccessfully for a cure to Gary’s condition, and during the demonic invasion of Earth led by the Horde she fought off demons attacking Gary’s hospital ward. Gary was restored to full health by the Hellion Conjur, and Kate, Nick and Gary are currently living in the penthouse apartment owned by Spitfire.
