Strength Level: Mystique possesses the normal
strength of a woman in her late 20's with the same height and build
who engages in regular exercise.
Known Superhuman Powers: Mystique is
a mutant metamorph capable of shifting the atoms and molecules of
her body and clothing to mimic the appearance of any human, humanoid
or semi-humanoid of either sex. Her powers of duplication include
being able to exactly replicate a person's retina, finger, palm and
skin-pore patterns as well as their vocal cords.
Though she is able to look like other mutants, she does not also take
on any powers they possess. She is also unable to increase or diminish
her body mass. While she can duplicate a person of a heavier build,
she continues to weigh the same as normal. The longer she maintains
the form of someone larger than herself, the greater strain she puts
on her body.
Her powers of shape shifting also suppress her aging process which
makes it near impossible to determine how old she is. Her powers also
give her some degree of a healing factor.
Abilities/Special Skills: Terrorism,
espionage, a vast knowledge of polatics, computers, brawling and fire-arms.

Personality:
Mystique has always been a manipulative female,
and her mutant ability to shape shift has been invaluable to aid her.
She has little time for anyone but herself since her soul mate, Destiny
was killed and doesn't allow anyone to get close to her, not even
those she is related to. The only 'relative' she felt any kind of
connection to wasn't even her own blood. Her adopted daughter, Rogue,
however shunned Mystique in adulthood and her 'daughter' was then
lost to her.
Mystique contunues her own private plots, assassinations and agendas.
Personal Interests: Mystique had believed that
humans must be wiped out for her and people like her (ie mutants)
to live peacfully. In her later years, she is still plotting, and
seems to have taken a keen interest in the X-Factor member, Hotshot
and is currently mentoring her. At the same time, Mystique seems desperately
keen to recliam her estranged daughter, Anna Marie (AKA Vixen Blue)
the reasons behind this aren't yet clear, allthough it is asumed that
she doesn't want Anna to meet her unsuspecting father, Sabretooth.
Next-X History: In
the Next-X Universe, Mystique's habits remain mysterious. Secretly
working for an assassin training program, an undesguised Mystique
alongside colleague Jeremy Fitch was in charge of sending eleven bounty
hunters after Anna Marie Carter (AKA Vixen Blue) in order to bring
her back to the facility where she escaped from. That was two years
ago.
Long thought dead to the public, Mystique had been discovered posing
as the then Vice President Sam Wilson. While under this guise she
has been toying with Michael Acer (AKA Ace) for reasons yet to be
revealed. The U.S. Government has kept Mystique's resurfacing secret
from the public at this time, especially since she escaped and is
currently at large.
She has most recently revealed herself to be Vixen Blue's mother after
posing for some time as the Extremists member Jaybird (now Bluejay).
She and Vixen fought, but Mystique quickly escaped. She has since
had her shape shifting underlings track her with the intention of
capturing her. Due to various spanners in the works, Vixen has thus
far managed to evade the Changelings attempts to take her down. |
