Origin: Rogue is a mutant and was born with her powers, allthough they didn't manifest until she reached puberty. In the throws of adolescent passion, Rogue kissed a boy named Cody Robbins and caused him to lose consciousness. Unable to shut out his memories, she fled. Known Superhuman Powers: Rogue is a mutant who can absorb others' memories and abilities through physical contact. In battle with the original Ms. Marvel, Rogue assimilated the heroine's powers permanently -- acquiring invulnerability, super-strength and the ability to fly. After a long struggle Rogue has finally mastered her abilities to the point where she can touch other people without automatically absorbing their strength and power. She has never revealed what she did in this time. The most obvious result of the time she spent alone is her now conscious control of her power of absorbtion. It is now possible for Marie to have physical contact with others without automatically absorbing their lifeforce and powers. The first person she demonstrated this to was Remy when she surprised him with a kiss on a New Orleans street. They spent the next few months together and were eventually married. They formed Magnificat Security, a security system design firm, and settled down in New Orleans. They have a home outside of New Orleans where they have raised their two children. After a long talk she convinced Remy to name their son Cody in memory of her first boyfriend.
